Bronte Hughes

Founder & Filmmaker

Bronte Hughes is an award-winning filmmaker and the founder of Lights, Camera, Action!. With over 15 years of experience in the industry, Bronte has directed and produced numerous short films, documentaries, and feature films that have been screened at prestigious film festivals around the world. Her expertise lies in directing, producing, and screenwriting. Bronte holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies from the University of Sydney and a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Before founding Lights, Camera, Action!, Bronte worked as a freelance filmmaker and lecturer at various film schools and universities. She is passionate about empowering aspiring filmmakers and helping them develop their unique voices and visions. Bronte teaches Introduction to Filmmaking, Directing Actors, and Advanced Screenwriting courses at Lights, Camera, Action!.

Alistair Chen

Co-Founder & TV Executive

Alistair Chen is a seasoned TV executive and the co-founder of Lights, Camera, Action!. He has worked in the television industry for over 20 years, holding senior executive positions at major networks such as Channel Seven and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). Alistair's expertise lies in television production, programming, and distribution. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales and a Graduate Diploma in Media Arts from the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS).

Before co-founding Lights, Camera, Action!, Alistair oversaw the development and production of numerous successful TV shows, including dramas, comedies, and reality programs. He is a highly respected figure in the Australian television industry and brings a wealth of industry knowledge and connections to our program. Alistair teaches Television Production Management, Media Law, and Distribution Strategies courses at Lights, Camera, Action!.

Serena Patel

Cinematographer

Serena Patel is a highly respected cinematographer known for her stunning visuals and innovative lighting techniques. She has worked on numerous award-winning films and TV shows, including "The Outback Mystery" and "Sydney Sunset." Serena's expertise lies in cinematography, lighting design, and camera operation. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinematography from the Victorian College of the Arts and has received numerous awards for her work, including the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) Gold Award.

Before joining Lights, Camera, Action!, Serena worked as a freelance cinematographer and mentored aspiring cinematographers. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and helping students develop their visual storytelling skills. Serena teaches Lighting for Film and TV, Advanced Cinematography Techniques, and Camera Operation courses at Lights, Camera, Action!. Her classes are known for their hands-on approach and focus on practical skills.

James O'Connell

Sound Designer

James O'Connell is a seasoned sound designer with over 10 years of experience in the film and television industry. He has worked on a wide range of projects, from independent short films to blockbuster feature films. James' expertise lies in sound recording, sound editing, and sound mixing. He holds a Diploma of Sound Production from the Sydney Film School and has been nominated for several Australian Screen Sound Guild (ASSG) Awards.

Before joining Lights, Camera, Action!, James worked as a freelance sound designer and ran his own sound production company. He is passionate about creating immersive and impactful audio experiences for film and television. James teaches Sound Design for Film and TV, Audio Post-Production, and Field Recording Techniques courses at Lights, Camera, Action!.

Isabella Rossi

Film Editor

Isabella Rossi is an experienced film editor with a keen eye for storytelling and a passion for visual communication. She has worked on numerous award-winning documentaries and narrative films, showcasing her talent for crafting compelling narratives through skillful editing techniques. Isabella holds a Master of Arts in Film Editing from the University of Melbourne and is a member of the Australian Screen Editors (ASE) guild.

Prior to teaching at Lights, Camera, Action!, Isabella worked as a lead editor for various independent production companies and mentored emerging editors. Her dedication to nurturing talent and sharing her expertise makes her a valuable asset to our team. Isabella teaches Film Editing Fundamentals, Advanced Editing Techniques, and Documentary Editing courses.

David Miller

Special Effects Guru

David Miller is a special effects guru known for his innovative and breathtaking visual creations. He has worked on numerous blockbuster films, creating stunning special effects for explosions, creatures, and virtual environments. David holds a degree in visual effects from the University of Technology Sydney and is a certified Houdini artist.

David brings his immense experience and passion to teaching students at Lights, Camera, Action!. He is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and helping students develop the skills they need to create their own incredible visual effects. David teaches Introduction to Visual Effects, Advanced Compositing, and 3D Animation for Film courses.
